Registration for our 5th K-8 summer math challenge is now open!
Our first K-8 math challenge summer program was held in 2016-2017 in which almost 200 children participated. Over 350 children participated in the third K-8 math challenge during summers of 2017 and 2018. Our K-8 Math Challenge Program now a regular feature that will run over the summer and end on 30th of September yearly.
Enroll in Summer 2020 K-8 Math Challenge Program
We are asking parents of all children who are entering Kindergarten through 8th grade in fall of 2020 to sign up their children with Khan Academy and work through the Math Mission assigned for their respective grade over the summer of 2020 (till September 30, 2020). Think of it as a Math summer camp. If you / your child successfully finishes the Khan Academy math mission, they would be well-prepared to start school in the fall. The process is extremely simple, but the experience will Insha’Allah greatly benefit your child in years to come.
What is Khan Academy?
Khan Academy is an online platform for learning. It is free and tens of millions of people use it every month. Khan Academy provides learning in a fun way at all levels. It is personalized, so each individual can work at his or her own pace. It provides instructional videos and other interactive tools to help students master different concepts. Parents and students can track their progress and set targets.

How are winners selected for Summer 2020 K-8 Math Challenge Program?

Updates to Criteria for Prizes During the Year
For some grades Khan Academy adds exercises during the year, which leads to a decrease of the progress percentage for some grades. For this reason, we will adjust the prize criteria to take this into account (currently only grade 2 and 5 affected by this). However we recommend students to still try to achieve 100% and benefit from these added exercises. Current prize criteria:
